On February 17, 2021, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality required the Harris County MUD 468 public water system, TX1013369, to issue a Boil Water Notice to inform customers, individuals, or employees that due to conditions which occurred recently in the public water system, the water from this public water system was required to be boiled prior to use for drinking water or human consumption purposes.
The public water system has taken the necessary corrective actions to restore the quality of the water distributed by this public water system used for drinking water or human consumption purposes and has provided TCEQ with laboratory test results that indicate that the water no longer requires boiling prior to use as of today, February 23, 2021.
If you have questions concerning this matter, you may contact Inframark, the operator for Harris County MUD 468, at our 24-hour Customer Service Line (281) 398-8211.
The NHCRWA and the district collected samples for the required bacteriological tests yesterday.
Hopefully and depending on the results of these tests a decision can be made late Monday afternoon or early Tuesday morning.
The district wants to thank the residents for their patience and understanding during this trying time.

Due to power outages and reduced distribution system pressure within the District, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality has required the Harris County MUD 468, TX1013369, public water system to notify all customers to boil their water prior to consumption (e.g., washing hands/face, brushing teeth, drinking, etc). Children, seniors, and persons with weakened immune systems are particularly vulnerable to harmful bacteria, and all customers should follow these directions).
To ensure destruction of all harmful bacteria and other microbes, water for drinking, cooking, and ice making should be boiled and cooled prior to use for drinking water or human consumption purposes. The water should be brought to a vigorous rolling boil and then boiled for two minutes.
In lieu of boiling, individuals may purchase bottled water or obtain water from some other suitable source for drinking water or human consumption purposes.
When it is no longer necessary to boil the water, the public water system officials will notify customers that the water is safe for drinking water or human consumption purposes.
Once the boil water notice is no longer in effect, the public water system will issue a notice to customers that rescinds the boil water notice in a manner similar to this notice.
Please share this information with all the other people who drink this water, especially those who may not have received this notice directly (for example, people in apartments, nursing homes, schools, and businesses). You can do this by posting this notice in a public place or distributing copies by hand or mail.

NHCRWA Water System Situational Update
Wednesday, February 17, 2021 9:30am
The North Harris County Regional Water Authority’s (the “Authority”) primary source of water is the City of Houston’s Northeast Water Purification Plant. Due to the continuing, unprecedented winter weather, operational challenges at City of Houston facilities has resulted in the disruption of the Authority’s incoming water supply from the City.
The Authority is doing everything we can to continue providing service to our customers without surface water from the City. However, customers of the Authority have experienced pressure and supply issues. The Authority’s operator (Inframark) is coordinating with the District’s Operating Companies in efforts to lessen the impacts as best as possible.
Inframark is working diligently to ensure water and wastewater services remain online. Due to inclement weather, power outages and equipment failures are being experienced throughout the area. Dangerous road conditions are creating challenges for accessing some facilities. Our dedicated team is working on resolving issues as promptly as possible. Inframark’s Customer Call Center is experiencing similar power and internet service issues that many are seeing throughout Texas and unable to consistently take calls. At this time no accounts are being turned off for delinquency due to the extreme weather event. If your matter is life threatening, please call 911.
Waste Management is committed to providing safe and effective trash and recycle collection throughout our service area.
Collection service has been suspended Wednesday, February 17th in response to the expected hazardous road conditions resulting from the additional inclement winter weather that is anticipated to begin tonight. Waste Management will restart curbside trash and recycle collection as soon as we are able. The company will expand its routes to additional areas as more streets become safe for our trucks.
I will be sure to send you an update as information becomes available. In addition, general updates are available at our website, www.wm.com, by following the link to, “Severe Weather Updates”.
Thank you for your patience and flexibility during this winter weather event.
